Why is inclusion and diversity important?

A fast evolving financial and IT sector requires new capabilities and diverse perspectives. Several studies show that diversity gives companies an advantage. These companies are more innovative, produce better products and services and take better and more reliable decisions by considering various perspectives. Diverse teams also appear to be more productive and are attractive to new, talented personnel.

Also in financial terms, companies with diverse teams (gender and cultural) perform better, according to long-term research by McKinsey. Research into the benefits of corporate diversity is so overwhelming that the Dutch Social and Economic Council is urging an acceleration of diversity at the top in Dutch corporate sector (click here for more information).
